April 24, 1866, and d. Dec. 10, 1899. At the opening of the Civil War he entered the Confederate service, being chief telegraph operator on General Beauregard's staff. Having acquired a taste for medicine, he entered the office of Dr. Cornelia Kollock, pursuing his studies in the medical college at Atlanta, Ga., from which he graduated with credit. In later years he resided at Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was City Health Officer and County Quarantine Physician.
