139   CASPARUS, son of Benjamin (38), was b. Sept. 15, 1752 and m. first, Nancy Campbell, Sept. 16, 1771; second, Jane Ryder, in 1790. He d. Jan. 18, 1836, at Bloomingdale, N.J.
At the time of his enlistment as a soldier in the Revolutionary War, he resided in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., but in the spring of 1778 he removed to Orange, now Rockland County, N.Y., where most of his children were born. Then in 1790, he came to New York City, remaining there until 1794, when he went upon a farm at Franklin, N.J., but returned to the city in 1800, where he owned considerable property. After a stay of twelve years, he again became a resident of New Jersey, owning a farm at Bloomingdale, near Paterson, in that State.
