the city of Paterson, and on April 18, 1707, he purchased from Ryer Ryerson and wife 600 acres of land, also on the Passaic River, beginning at Machra Creek, for the sum of £46 13s 4d.
On January 11, 1734, Jurrien then described as being an inhabitant of the township of New Barbadoes, sold to Abraham Varick 1,500 ‡ acres of land for £165, being part of his purchase from Berry in 1687. He was a Freeholder of Bergen Co. in 1728, and lived subsequent to Oct. 6, 1738, at this time well advanced in years.

10   KASPARUS, son of Roelof (5), Was bap. at Hackensack, July 19, 1694, by Dominie G. Bertholf, Gerrit Stimets, his uncle, and Ariaentie Gerrits van Hutsen, acting as sponsors. He was married by the same clergyman to Aeltie, the dau. of Roelof Bongeart and Gertruy Breyant, on the 7th of May, 1715, the ceremony having undoubtedly taken place at the residence of her father, situated on what is now known as Teaneck road, about 1‡ miles to the east of Hackensack, this property being part of the estate of the late William Walter Phelps. This marriage is recorded at Hackensack.
He resided on the lands which his father had patented from the Proprietors in 1695, where all his children appear to have been born. He is not named as a member of either the Hackensack or
